Here is a great double student lamp that dates from around 1890-1900. It is a very heavy brass lamp with wonderful wheel cut blown glass shades. We believe it may have been a gas lamp at one time but aren’t completely sure as this could be a transitional piece. The arms and shade holders are indicative of a gas lamp. The hand blown wheel cut shades are stunning and guaranteed to be original period shades….each shade measures 8 1/2″ tall by about 5 1/2″ in diameter at the widest point. They have a 3 1/4″ fitter rim. The lamp is in excellent condition and looks to have been possibly restored and rewired about five or ten years ago. This lamp is signed on the bottom “Dale Display Toronto”.
The lamp stands about 21″ tall and is 13 1/2″ overall across. It has obviously been well cared for over the years. This would look great on a piano or desk…it would definitely add some class and charm to any area.
