Early Flower Basket Pendant Light Fixture

Here we have a very delicate Flower Basket shaped pendant light fixture that dates from the mid 1920s and is attributed to makers LIGHTOLIER. It’s made from a plaster composition (gesso) with white slag glass inserts. The fixture is in great shape for it’s age however does show a considerable amount of chipping and paint loss which only adds to it’s character and is a testament to its age. The painted flowers and foliage are still bright and have a lot of detail. The ceiling canopy also has a lovely basket weave pattern as well as some floral motifs.

The fixture hangs 33″ from the ceiling and has an overall diameter of about 12″. This is an extremely rare piece of lighting and not many survived over the years.
